Ozlem was fortunate because she lived in a home on the top of a steep rock hill. Her building’s rigid underfloor saved the lives of both her and her family. Seven months earlier, an earthquake that occurred in the early morning hours of the 6th of February killed 50,000 people.

The city is impassable due to the constant demolition. This middle-aged primary school teacher explains that there are always traffic accidents.

There are also complaints that some schools haven’t even had their structural integrity inspected.
