The police say that a shoe shop heist led them to chase the thieves and cause a fiery accident involving another driver.
According to Pasadena Police, two suspects stole goods worth $7,000 from the WSS off Spencer Highway store in Pasadena. The chase culminated in a car crash on southwest Houston’s west side.
The suspects did not know that the items had a tracking device, which allowed officers to find them in Houston. That’s when Houston Police Department took control.
HPD reported that the suspects took police on a pursuit before all of it ended with a collision at Harwin Drive & Fondren Road, around 9:15 pm Tuesday.
Investigators with the HPD claim that both suspects had run a red traffic light prior to crashing into a second driver. They then fled the scene, but they were caught.
