After a violent home invasion in North Hollywood, which was recorded on video, two suspects are still at large.
Los Angeles Police Department believes that Dashawn Dow (20) is involved in several robberies. Dow, who has multiple arrests on his record, is also considered a repeat offenders.
The surveillance video shows that a couple was cornered on October 10 after they returned home from a garage in their North Hollywood apartment building.
Two men in hoods are seen approaching a male victim and attempting to remove his watch by force.
As the man resists, the first suspect places a pistol on the stomach of the victim while the second continues to wrangle the wrist of the victim to remove the timepiece.
The victim, fearing for his safety, releases the watch as well as other valuables to the suspects who then run away in a getaway vehicle.
The LAPD has been investigating at least two similar robberies in this area.
A similar attack was carried out on a couple who were returning to their home in the parking lot of an apartment complex. A gray Maserati was captured on security video following the victims inside the building.
The suspects confronted the victims as they stepped from their vehicle, and took away their money and jewelry before fleeing.
North Hollywood residents have told KTLA that they are concerned about the fact that suspects still remain on the loose.
Katrina Leighton of North Hollywood said, “It is a complete violation.” To have property taken from where you live, is a total nightmare.
Local resident Dylan Connelly reacted to the suspects by saying, “How dare ye feel that you are entitled to take someone’s belongings you didn’t earn?”
LAPD detectives have been searching for Dow who they believe is involved in the two violent robberies. Authorities suspect that he is the one who held the gun.
Dow has been arrested 5 times in the past 18 months but each time was able post bond. Police said that Dow is wanted in connection with two follow-home robberies committed in downtown Los Angeles. He also has been identified as a person who may be of interest to other investigations.
Antwan Alexander said that it was bold to wait in a gated garage without fear. It shows its audacity.
Alexander stated that it seemed the target of his watch only had one option.
Alexander explained: “When it comes to protecting life or property, you will always protect the latter.”
Police said that Dow, along with a second suspect who has not been identified are both considered dangerous and armed.
