The storms that hit Guilford County on Tuesday were most severe in the south.
Many trees, including those at Pleasant Garden, have fallen.

The storm has not been a cause of injury.

Strong winds uprooted this century-old tree, destroying Donna Rives dad’s home.
I was worried for him, because he is 77 and lives here alone. Donna Rives: “I want to ensure he is safe and that he has a home to live in.”
Rives claimed that the trunk missed him only by a few centimeters; now it lies on part of his home.
Rives stated that the log went through his father’s bathroom and bedroom. A similar-sized piece of wood went through their kitchen roof, but missed Rives by about this much.
The storms were most severe in Guilford County’s southern regions, including Pleasant Garden and High Point.
It surprised many locals.
Paul Barnhart told me that the tree fell when I called him.
Paul Barnhart helped his son Arthur Barnhart to clean up after limbs from a tree reached his house.
I heard a loud bang as soon as the rain started and ran to the window thinking that it was my tree. But it was actually the neighbor’s. It happened so quickly that Arthur Barnhart couldn’t explain what had happened.
Arthur Barnhart made sure his children were in safety before checking on the neighbors.
Her porch has collapsed, so they won’t be able get in. To make sure that the trees were okay, I pulled them back. My main concern was when they came and told me everything was fine. Arthur Barnhart stated that you could pay for any damage, whether it was property or otherwise.
After the storm, it will be a while before things return to normal.
High Point’s house has been condemned.
Families told us that the couple living there has moved.
The man living there is determined to remain Tuesday night because it’s his family’s day.
